Friday Favorites

Happy Friday everyone! Christmas Eve is tomorrow. It came so quickly! I wish everyone a Merry Christmas and hope they have a wonderful holiday! Check out this weeks Friday Favorites!

1. Favorite Song: My Favorite Things (Sound of Music)
While it was never conceived as a Christmas song, the wintertime imagery of some of the lyrics has made "My Favorite Things" a popular selection during the holiday season, and it often appears on seasonal albums and compilations. This was always one of my favorite scenes in the Sound of Music. It's very fitting for my blog as well. ;)

2. Favorite movie: White Christmas
I love watching classic Christmas movies during the holiday season this is by far my favorite. It's definitely a classic! So many great songs and dance numbers! love old Hollywood.

3. Favorite quote:

At Christmas time everyone is a little nicer and little more giving. Wouldn't it be nice if everyone could always have the Christmas spirit?

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday Everyone! Can you believe it, Christmas is one week away! Hope everyone is ready! I'm officially done with all my wrapping! Enjoy this week's Friday Favorites!

Favorite Application: Virtual Fireplace/Yule Log

What's better than an actual fireplace for the holidays if you don't have one? A virtual fireplace or during the Christmas season a virtual yule log!  If you're like me and have a Sony Google TV, Roku player, or Instant Netflix than you can have a crackling fireplace/yule log in your home. On my Google TV it's an application you download. Yep folks there's an app for that. On the Roku player it's on the holiday channel. On instant Netflix it's called Fireplace for Your Home. With each device you can have a just a crackling fireplace/yule log, or one that plays Christmas music. So bust out some hot chocolate and marshmellows and enjoy a virtual fireplace/yule log!

Favorite Treat: Fruity Pebble Treats

Do you love Rice Krispies but want something just a little sweeter? Then these treats are for you! I made these this week and thought they were perfect for Christmas since they are so colorful like Christmas lights. I got a little creative and used Christmas cookie cutters in the shape of a Christmas tree, gingerbread man, and snowflake. The extra leftover treats I cut them into squares and rolled them into balls. Then, I dipped them in white chocolate and sprinkled them with leftover Fruity Pebbles. I also inserted lollipop sticks in them. Who doesn't love anything on a stick?
Favorite Memory: Old 8mm Christmas Home Movies

There's nothing like Christmas when you're a kid. This week my favorite memory was Christmas in the 80's when I was a little girl. Here is some footage from my families old 8mm movies from two Christmas years in the 80's of my sister and I. I can still remember how much I loved that Monchichi monkey doll! Remember those? I miss when Christmas was like this!

Favorite laugh: Dancing With An Ipod In Public: Christmas Edition
This youtube video has gone viral! This guy goes around a mall dancing with his ipod to Mariah Carey's All I Want For Christmas! It is simply A-MAZING! He's my new hero. I dare you not to smile! Mariah Carey also saw this video and tweeted the guy back about it!

Friday Favorites

1. Christmas Decorations

December is finally here! Thanksgiving is over and now it's time to put up all those Christmas Decorations! I really love this time of year! I love how beautiful and magical my house looks!

2. Pentatonix
Pentatonix the all live vocal group wins The Sing-Off! I'm so glad! I loved this group from the beginning! They were consistent in all their performances and the arrangements they came up with were sick! If you missed the show this season check it out next time it comes on. It won't disappoint! The groups all sing live and it's all vocals no instruments or background tracks. I love it!

3.Philosophy's Hope In A Jar moisturizer

I've been using this moisturizer since this past summer. I don't know how I went so long without it! It's so smooth and light going on. It feels like a light whipped creme almost like cool whip! I've been loving it even more now that's it's winter and my skin gets dryer here in the midwest. It leaves your skin super soft and it's for all skin types, so thats nice. Try it ladies if you're looking for a great moisturizer. I also love it because a little bit goes a long way! You save money by not having to buy a new one so fast, since you don't use a lot when applying. Gotta love that!

Friday Favorites!

Happy Friday Everyone! I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I hope you all got to eat enough Thanksgiving goodies and maybe be lucky enough to have room for some leftovers today! For all you crazy Black Friday shoppers, I hope the shopping madness was worth it and you found some good deals. Here's this weeks Friday Favorites!

1. Baker's Square Pumpkin Pie
The best part of Thanksgiving is the pumpkin pie! Not just any old pumpkin pie though, it's got to be Baker's square pumpkin whipped creme pie. Anything else and why bother? I'm all about baking but I have yet to taste a pumpkin pie as good. There is no way this couldn't be in this weeks Friday Favorites.

2.Family
Thanksgiving is a time to reflect on what you're thankful for. What I'm most thankful for is my family. Without the unconditional love of family, for me, this world would be a lonely place.

3. The song Red Solo Cup by Toby Keith
How fun is this song and the video! Oh the culture that is the Red Solo Cup! It's been on repeat this week. Check it out. I'm sure it will put a smile on your face as well.

4. Turkey Cookies
Even though these cookies were a challenge to make they have made it into the Friday Favorites! They did actually end up turning out cute even though making them wasn't so cute, as they kept falling apart! They ended up being a hit with the kids!

That concludes this weeks Friday Favorites! Were any of them yours?

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday Everyone! Hope you all have been staying warm and cozy these last couple days! These are just a few of my favorite things this week! Were any of them yours?
1. 93.9 The Lite FM Christmas Music

Last week The Lite FM started playing Christmas music! I love this time of year. Nonstop Christmas music all day(if you choose)! There's no better way to get into the Christmas spirit than listening to your favorite Christmas songs! Plus listening to all those songs gives me the motivation to do all my Christmas shopping. So now that it's winter and "folks are dressed up like eskimos" they'll "hear those sleigh bells jingling" and "dream of a white Christmas" thanks to The Lite FM!

2. Toys "R" Us brings back old 80's commercial
Toys "R" Us has brought back a old favorite commercial for the holiday season. I love that they are doing this. It makes me nostalgic for my childhood. I can remember this commercial jingle word for word. Who didn't want to be a Toys "R" Us kid in the 80's? The only thing new about the commercial is at the end where it says, "Toys "R" Us still the greatest toy store"

3. Favorite quote comes from the legendary Audrey Hepburn who I love.

Friday Favorites

So on my other blog I attempted to start a weekly post called Flashback Friday. Well I didn't really keep with that. I decided to go back to this blog(my original blog) and start a new Friday weekly blog called Friday Favorites. Every Friday I will post my favorite things for this week. It could be anything! Check out each Friday to find out my favorite things for that week! So lets begin with this weeks Friday Favorites!
1. Once Upon A Time
Once Upon A Time is a new television show on ABC. It's already aired 3 episodes air so far. It's a mix of all the fairytales you grew up with along with reality. It goes deeper into the fairytales and tries to answer all those questions that were never answered. Like last weeks episode of how Snow White and Prince Charming met. It goes back and forth into reality and the fairytale world. You see all the characters in this small town don't know they are fairytale characters. They were sent to our world as a curse by the Evil Queen. The only one who can take them back to their reality and release the curse is Emma(Snow White and Prince Charming's daughter). Except she doesn't really know it or believe it. I'm loving it so far! It has that mixture of magic, romance, and mystery. Plus it's from the writers of LOST, so it has those let me figure this out moments. Check out the trailer. You can catch it on Sundays 8/7 central on ABC.

2. Jingle Cookies(Now named Santa's Favorites)
Once a year at Christmastime these delicious Christmas cookies come out. If you grew up in the Midwest then you probably along with me had the tradition of buying these cookies every holiday season. Well, if you are a true Jingle fan then you know they are no longer called Jingle cookies. They are now called Santa's Favorites. Keebler bought Salerno years ago and all their recipes. Then after a few years they sold Salerno but kept one of their brands, the Jingle cookie. They however did not keep the original Jingle recipe. Salerno is a subsidiary of Archway & Mother’s Cookie Company now. They can't use the Jingle name anymore but their Santa's Favorites is the original recipe. The cookies are now just smaller versions. So next time you're out looking for Jingles don't buy those imposter's of our favorite holiday cookies Keeblers Jingles. They are loaded with too many sprinkles and too much anise! Look for the green box, Santa's Favorites by Salerno. They are the original recipe! Happy Christmas cookie eating to you all!
3. Philosophy's Kiss Me Exfoliating lip scrub
You don't find that many lip exfoliaters out there. At least I haven't. I love Philosophy's Kiss Me Exfoliating lip scrub. During the winter your lips can get extremely dry and this product is wonderful! It keeps the dry skin off your lips and leaves them baby smooth! Plus it's smells and tastes amazing!
Well that's my first Friday Favorites! Maybe you saw some of your favorites or are about to make them your new favorites!
